Växtbaserat Sverige is a trade organization representing companies in the food chain striving to promote the transition to increased production and consumption of plant-based foods. Their members include companies such as Alpro/Danone, DUG/Veg of Lund, Livekindly, Nestlé/Hälsans kök, Nordic Seafarm, Oatly, Orkla Foods Sverige, Proteinish, and Stockeld Dreamery.
The organization operates through advocacy work to raise awareness about the benefits of plant-based food production and consumption. They emphasize that there are many political and regulatory processes underway in the food sector, both in Sweden and the EU, where a strong voice for the plant-based segment is needed to highlight the benefits for the climate and public health.
Växtbaserat Sverige sees the potential in increasing the production and consumption of plant-based foods to benefit both the climate, public health, and Swedish agriculture. They highlight that Swedish agriculture and the food industry have the opportunity to reduce their climate impact and export sustainable solutions and products to other parts of the world. As a trade organization, they strive to make this a reality by influencing society, politics, and business.
