Nordic SeaFarm has been granted support from the maritime, fisheries, and aquaculture
fund for improved harvesting techniques of sea-farmed seaweed. With the help of this
support, we have acquired a barge where the seaweed is landed during harvest, as well as
a conveyor belt that moves the seaweed from the harvesting platform to storage bins on the
barge. The barge has a load capacity of 4 tons and will facilitate easier
transport of seaweed from the farming rigs to the quay. The goal of the investment is to
increase the capacity of sustainably produced seaweed through improved harvesting
techniques.
